I have been waiting for the Cherry Blossom season in New York City. Most of the time I see the trees laden with new blossoms on my way to work or coming back. By that time I am tired and feel content with pictures on my phone.

I never really took the effort to take out my camera and dress up. Until the year 2026.

This year was different. We woke up early for a rare brunch. Probably our first brunch in the city. At Don Angie which is a difficult restaurant to snag a reservation spot. My friend Shatarupa actually did it for me.

Shatarupa and I were discussing brunch spots in the city and the difficulty in reserving city’s most coveted spots. We actually had a plan to go to Adda and experience the Chicken Tikka Masala cooked by your table thingie.

While that did not happen, she got me a reservation at Don Angie.

We have been trying for the last 3 years for a seat here. There was no way I would say no to it.

So we dressed up and had a hearty meal.

Post that we went to a film, the Drama, which was fantastic, and proceeded towards Central Park.

We entered central park on 86th street, from Upper West Side.

The jacqueline reservoir of central park was supposed to be laden with blooming trees, but there was none. The bridal path was bereft of the glamour of Cherry blossom. At the wee end towards the East side, there were 4 trees in full bloom. They were the star attractions of the day.

We stopped and took some pictures. We were walking towards 72 east when we stopped for some more pictures by the Magnolia Bloom.

Overall, it was nice. The sky was overcast with clouds. That made the light be very gentle on flowers.
